about

North Norfolk

North Norfolk
North Norfolk is one of the most exceptional coastlines in England and is designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. This beautiful corner of the country is known for its open spaces, pine forests, acres of unspoilt countryside, wild salt marshes, mudflats and last but not least  its white, sandy beaches.   All these beaches have at some time been the setting for many films, countless photoshoots and innumerable happy family days out.

Blakeney village
The Blakeney lies a few miles north of the small Georgian town of Holt. This pretty coastal village was once a busy trading port. However, after many years of tidal cleansing and renewing the trading has since long gone. Nevertheless, this has been replaced by a unique village with a wonderfully thriving community where locals and tourists happily rub shoulders. Blakeney also has a top-quality delicatessen and fishmonger,  small general store, chandlers,  post office and gift shops.  Blakeney also has two pubs and several restaurants. In addition to everything Blakeney can offer, there are numerous other delightful villages and bustling market towns nearby, each offering their own charm with pubs and award winning restaurants.

From dingy sailing to walking, crabbing to seal-watching, Blakeney, has something for everyone. If it’s something a bit more relaxing you’re looking for, Blakeney Quay  is the perfect place to just sit on the quayside and watch the comings and goings of village life whilst enjoying an ice-cream and perhaps trying out the very popular sport of crabbing.
